Short sleeves are even worn in winter, there are mainly differences in the thickness of the cloth. Furthermore the tops are pulled down relatively far to the thigh because no pants are worn beneath the Hakama.
In opposite to the female designs, Gi for men have openings beneath the armpits which allows an increased circulation of air.
Most commonly worn are white Gi, which is also the official color. Other muted colors like gray or black can be used in everyday training or as a team jersey though.
Did you know? The short form "Gi" is common only outside of Asia. In Japan the practice uniforms for martial arts are being called "Dōgi" (道着).
For Gi you can use your familiar american size from S to XXXL.
All our white Gis are machine-washable up to 60°C.
